The 16-piece house big band plays every Wednesday night, and a mix of vocalists, quartets and other jazz masters round out the rest of the week's roster. The downstairs bar is the perfect accent to a great night on the town.

COVINGTON. With a chic rooftop patio that offers superb views of the Cincy skyline, this hip, relaxed bar and restaurant is a Covington favorite and worth the short trip across the river. Try an acclaimed cosmopolitan or one of the 20 varieties of scotch at the 40-foot downstairs bar. If the weather allows, order a meal on the patio overlooking the Main Strasse ­ Steak Nora, sesame-seared salmon, and vegetarian pesto pasta are a cut above typical bar food. Tear-inducing hot wings (25¢ on Mondays), live local bands, and plenty of TVs foster a homey, stay-all-night vibe. Whether you're huddling around the patio firepit on a chilly night or holding an impromptu pool tournament, you'll appreciate drink specials (Jäger cherry bombs are popular) and a convivial bar staff. Tuesday night karaoke attracts a lively bunch, as do occasional dance-a-thons inspired by that night's band.
